Q1 :
I am a registered Graduate QS. How many points can I carry forward to the following year?
A :
Registered Graduate Quantity Surveyor are not allowed to carry forward any access CPD points reference to Guidelines On Continuing Professional Development For Quantity Surveyors (Revised July 2004).
Q2 :
How can I apply for reduction of CPD requirement as I am working and residing in overseas.
A :
Registered Quantity Surveyor who are working and residing overseas requires only 2 points yearly for renewal of registration. In order to qualify for the reduction up to 2 CPD points, Registered Quantity Surveyor required to submit the following to the Board:
(i) Copy of work permit/ visa in your passport
(ii) Confirmation letter from employer
Q3 :
My Degree program is not in the list of Accredited Degree Programme by the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia. How can I qualify myself to register as a Graduate QS?
A :
Graduates from unaccredited degree programme required to sit and pass a minimum of 3 papers (maximum 10 papers) in the Institution of Surveyors Malaysia Direct Final Exam before being eligible to apply for registration as a Registered Graduate Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia. The number of papers to sit in the ISM Direct Final Examination will depend on your academic result of your sub-professional and degree qualification. Q4 :
I am a registered QS. How can i access myCPD?
A :
Log on to www.bqsm.gov.my. For first time user, you will need to register on ‘Register Online’ menu. Once you have completed the registration part, you can access your myCPD account on ‘Login’ menu from the website.
Q5 :
I have attended 2 CPD programmes within this year but it is not updated in myCPD record. How can I update the CPD records?
A :
Please submit a copy of certificate of attendance or any other proofs of you attending the programmes for approval by the Board.
