Important Notes

  1. Only completed applications will be processed. Please ensure that all items listed in the checklist are fulfilled.
  2. Please note that all applications will be presented in the Registration and Qualifications Committee Meeting for a formal decision. Applications received after 3 days before the Committee Meeting will only be presented on the next Committee Meeting.
  3. Applications and supporting documents need to be completed and uploaded through the ReQSys system based on the pre-determined application checklist.
  4. No receipt of supporting documents in physical form (hardcopy).

Required Documents
  1. One copy:
    1. SPM/O-Level Certificate.
    2. Diploma/Certificate/Matriculation/STPM/A-Level.
    3. Degree.
    4. Degree examination transcript from the first year until final year.
    5. Diploma/Certificate examination transcript from the first year until final year (if any).
    6. Direct Final Exam results (for applicants that are among the diploma holders recognized by BQSM). The above documents must be validated by:-
    7. Professional Quantity Surveyor / Consultant; or
    8. Fellow/Registered Member of the Royal Malaysian Association of Surveyors; certified in the following format: (or any other authentication format carrying the same meaning) (Please refer to PDF below).
  2. A passport size photograph (formal dress).
  3. A copy of identity card / passport.
  4. Employer’s detail and current workplace address.

Payment

Payment is online through the ReQSys system. The total payment that needs to be submitted is RM150.00 which
includes:

 

  • RM100.00 (registration fee).
  • RM50.00 (non -refundable processing fee).

Required Documents
  1. Letter of approval for registration application for Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) scheme.
  2. A passport size photograph (formal dress).
  3. Letter of confirmation of work experience as a Quantity Surveyor from the employer containing the following words: (Please refer to PDF below) or which gives such meaning. Letter of confirmation of work experience must be supported by a copy of the letter of appointment or EPF contribution form or any other relevant document to prove that you have worked with the firm.
  4. Latest employer's confirmation letter (if different from item (iii) above).

Payment

Payment is online through the ReQSys system. The total payment that needs to be submitted is RM400.00 which includes:

  • RM300.00 (registration fee).
  • RM100.00 (non -refundable processing fee).

Requirement
  1. To ensure that the requirements of the Registration Guidelines for the Board of Quantity Surveyors of Malaysia (BQSM) as follows are met:
    • Qualification of principal / partner / director from registration category and status in the firm (full time or non -full time).
    • Practical Name (Please refer to the BQSM Registration Guidelines which can be downloaded from the BQSM portal).
  2. For firms with the status of a Corporation, the establishment of the firm must always meet the registration requirements of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).

Required Documents
    1. A copy of the Degree for the principal / partner / director.
    2. A copy of the Certificate of Registration with BQSM for the principal / partner / director.
    3. Statutory declaration of bankruptcy by the principal / partner / director certified by the Commissioner for Oaths (please refer to the format of the declaration letter by BQSM).
    4. Declaration of the latest employment status of the principal / partner / director.
    5. A copy of the ‘Partnership Agreement’ or Memorandum and Articles of Association (M&A)/ Section 14 (SSM) by inserting the terms on the firm’s activities as a Consultant Quantity Surveyor as follows:- (Please refer to PDF below)
    6.  Documents issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) related to:
      1. Company incorporation information.
      2. Latest director structure information of the company.
      3. Company's paid -up capital information. Please note that the paid-up capital of a Corporation Corporation firm is at least RM50,000.00.
      Note: Documents must be certified valid by SSM or the Company Secretary.
    7. Additional documents (if applicable):
      1. For directors / partners who have a commitment as an employee in a firm related to the construction industry: Letter of resignation / agreement to resign from current position for principal / partner / director.
      2. For directors / partners who have a commitment as a director / partner in a Quantity Surveying Consultancy firm: Letter of approval from the partner / director to establish the firm.
      3. For directors / partners who have a commitment as a director in a firm related to the construction industry: Letter requesting permission from BQSM to become a director of a firm related to the construction industry (refer to Clause 27 (4) of the Quantity Surveyors (Amendment) Rules 2016).

Payment
Payment is online through the ReQSys system. The total payment that needs to be submitted is RM2,100.00 which includes:

  • RM2,000.00 (registration fee).
  • RM100.00 (non-refundable processing fee).

Please note that applicants may be required to attend an interview session conducted by the Registration and Qualifications Committee before the application is considered. Applicants will be informed of the interview session schedule by the BQSM secretariat after all application requirements are met.
